Dear PT,The reason the AN-V is so hard to solder is because it is a litz cable, meaning each strand is coated with a thin layer of polyurethane.
It most be soldered to the socket, crimping or screwing it will not necessarily connect each strand of the cable resulting in a loss of signal quality.
You need a hot soldering iron, 400 degrees or so, and then use the solder to burn off the insulation, clean the solder thus used and solder with a fresh bit of solder.
It really is not that hard.
