In Reply to: IMO you should first choose Kimber v. Clarity on sonic characteristics. posted by jeffreybehr on November 17, 2005 at 13:39:39:
I also considered the SoniCap since it's said to have a very detailed presentation without sounding brittle. The Kimber Kap is said to be similar to Auricap, which was my first choice (not available in a 5.3 uF value, though) and is one that I'm familiar with. Either make would be a fine choice, then. However, I believe the ClarityCap SA would suit my needs just as well for a bedroom system's loudspeakers, and in this case I'm interested in a "B&W family kinda thing" as a kick. I dig experimentation based on a whim. It's often been proved fruitful :-)
In fact, as used in this particular application, I'm under the impression that the ClarityCap SA just might have a presentation that meets my expectations better than an Auricap or Kimber Kap would. So, I'm really not being too particular in my choice. One way or the other I'm sure I'll be satisfied. Cheers
