Ciao all,
following Jon Risch, I'm building some face-to-face Transformer set to filter each of my "digital processing" units (CD, Monarchy Upsampler, DAC, Behringer). The 2 filters up to now built consist of a parallel of a 220vac-->85vac, a zobel RC (70ohm series 0,01uF) a 85vac-->220vac.Each trafo is 160va rated.
Would you think that adding some uF at the end of the filter (just before the powered unit) will improve the waveform (TL already mentioned it)? Would 10uF, motor cap, be too large? Would it make sense to add a resistor to eat the energy at higher frequencies (so, getting a zobel network)?
When speaking of balanced power, would you thinking of using a pair of back trafo (85vac --> 220vac). With 2 secondaries 85vac connected in series (if they hve the same Zin each see 85vac/2) and the 2 primaries in series (each getting 220vac/2) ?
