The characteristic impedance of RCA's, male & female, is 90 ohms, not 75 ohms. A simple el cheapo RCA plug (male)shorted to gd. should do the trick. The belief is that un-shorted and un-used RCA inputs can pick up RFI and degrade sonics. A good tweak is to install a non-inductive 0.01 uF cap (silver mica, stacked film, or ceramic) in series with a 7-8 ohm CARBON COMP. R from each center pin of each RCA input to the backplane of the enclosure (assuming that the chassis is grounded). Keep the leads as short as ppossible. The cap shunts RFI to gd., thru the C.C. R, which helps dissapate the RFI since C.C. R's are quite "lossy" and prevents any RFI from 'loading' your ground system. This will also shunt any RFI that may be riding on the input from other equipment such as CD player, etc. Quiet grounds increase the resolution of fine detail.Happy Listening !
