If your platform/shelf is pretty flat then using 4 should not be a problem. It is also much more stable that way, Imo.
I have , however, already damped the CDP to a reasonable extent internally. If your player is undamped you might find something different.
Hell, it will onlt take seconds to move them, try it both ways, with one under where the centre of the disc goes, one a little way in from where the mains comes in at the back and the third in the other back corner, which makes a reasonably stable triangle
