Actually, I'm not at all sure you're going to get significant results, but you have nothing to lose by trying.

If you have a purpose built audio component with a vibrating transformer, you may have a different kind of problem. I think most of us are answering assuming you meant a DIY or an external transformre of some kind, and these are often not audio designed and therefore vibrate. I've heard that in an audio component if the tranny is noticably vibrating you may have wither a loose screw, a bad transformer, or a DC problem fed through your power supply.

Have you or are you willing to open up the casing and try tightening those screws or damping inside the cabinetry both the box and the tranny itself? If not, you can always try Dynamat, Herbies or whatever externally, but I still think that will not do you well....
