I can certainly make the BEST potential hard/smooth interface for the top of the bearing by inverting another knob, just like the cup, with the stem trimmed or cut off. I can insert that into some support material to widen the support for the chasis - support could be ply, acrylic, etc. Can put nothing or a thin layer of something damping between that and the component bottom, like maybe even some Dynamat. Do NOT want to use polyurethane glue on that though!Think that would work? Would that still be an advantage over simply resting component bottom right on top of the ball as it is now?
