I found 1/8'' cork in rolls at the hardware store for $4, flattened it (this took a while),cut it to shape, and it works fine. Bumpy records seem less so visually, my tone arm is more horizontal(no VTA adjust. avail.)and, while I can't be sure of dramatic audio improvement, it can't hurt.
