The fusible link in glass-body speaker fuses is subject to intense vibration, so it would not be surprising if it had some sort of mechanical fatigue.Maggies sound much better if the fuses and fuse holders are bypassed. I decided to try this after owning mine for ten years without a fuse failure, and kicked myself for waiting so long.
