Just tonight got my Grungebuster 2s and some 1" dots.Put the G2s on the CDs and whaddya know.. they work! At first thought it was nothing startling, but it quickly became clear that it was clearer. Not tipped up in HF, but cleaner and some internal detail started to show up. More separation between instruments - not in 3D but in layers - where it must have been constricted before. Nice soundstage impact too. Not blow you away on everything, mind you, but quite there. Took them off, reversed; put them on and it came back.
Tried the dots between my speaker bottoms and the spherical hardwood sections I use as rounded cone footers. That was a similar improvement, though not as great as the G2s. If you check Herbie's site you'll see that he sells a more expensive ebony version of what I did.
Not bad for a few bucks. They're staying in my system.
This Herbie's elastomer has some interesting sonic impacts indeed.
Makes one wonder about the strategic differences between isolation vs. coupling, or even as Herbie's products suggest a combo....Nice job Herbie! Thanks.
