Hey All,Anybody have an opinion on using a Herbie HALO damping ring on the NAD533 turntable motor? There is nothing 'wrong' with the current motor so spending money on a new or upgraded one is wastefull [i beleive].
Currently I have a 2"x4" piece of 3M damping sheet stuck to the plastic motor housing and a 2"x2" piece stuck in front of the bearing housing. I also have vibrapod cones/feet replacing the stock feet. The table sits on a scrap of granite which then sits on a HDF seperated by two layers of cork pads at four points.
[I really noticed a difference when I added the granite & Vibrapods but do not sense a difference after the 3M sheets.]
Gotta be carefull in this anti-vibration tweaking - I am sure it can turn into a real neurosis! ;-)
Thanks in advance
