Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Hello,
I am considering purchasing the John Risch designed Exodus Jr power filtration strip from DIY cables. Im a newbie to power supply/filtration and would apreciate any advice you can give me. My System:Onkyo Integra DX C909 6 disc changer
running into a z-man tube buffer signal enhancer
into a
channel islands audio VDA 1 DAC and VAC 1 power supply running into a
SCE harmonic recovery device
DBX CX3MKII pre amp
DBX 3MKII Power Amp 125W into 4 channels requires 600W power
monsoon speakers- signal cable magic power digital reference power cable for the VAC1 power supply and SCE harmonic recovery device these two devices are running straight into the wall (standard 4 plug jack) along with the power amp - everything else into a monster home theatre power strip including large screen tv VCR,DVD player plugged into the 4th plug of the wall jack.
I would probably see sginficant improvement in sound if I spent the $1500 for a shunyata hydra 6 - but considering the quality of the signal cable power cords thought it may be cost benficial to purchase the exodus JR power strip instead. My home is 3 years old - all underground wiring in a new subdivision in colorado springs colorado - next to a 20 year old subdivision. If I turn on my space heater downstairs in the basement where the stereo is, the lights in the room dim. I dont realy notice any other signs of power consumption, but after midnight the stereo does seem to sound better.
Ive also considered the powervar 12 power system being sold on Audiogon - have read it may muddy the sound.
Any thoughts/opinions on the Exodus Jr. or any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for yor time- Michmartin
