Well, here we go again. If you REDUCE the contact area between two items you are ISOLATING the two items; if you INCREASE the contact area between two items you are COUPLING them. It's simple High School level physics, think about it. If you use an inner tube as a cushion you are again setting up a 'spring system' and the 'firmness' of the inner tube MUST be closely adjusted to the weight of the load or the 'spring system' will not function properly.Happy Isolating !
