I don't know why you say "This goes against the recomended fixes but any fix is a good one.""Flutter echo" is caused by sound reflecting continuously between the two side walls of a room (I'm assuming it's a rectangular room).
So corner treatments have F'all to do with solving flutter echo!!
Basically, putting one absorbant panel (I used 1" cork sheet) along most of one (long) side wall should cure it.
