Original opamps are..

The Opa2604's, decent chips, just not great...The ad823 is its direct competition and recommended cross reference by even Analog Devices themselves..Similar warm sound as opa2604, but has got it more together than the bb counterpart..Dont know about the ad's being perfect layout wise, the pinout is the same atleast(made my swap easier) they are not too much different than the opa's, but the fact that they are the second to last step before the rca out their low dc offset has allowed me to abolish the dc blocking caps and only be left with 1.5 mv offset per channel, super low and completely safe without the need for sound destroying signal path electrolytics...I just finished the rest of my browndogged opa627's dual modules and am interested to see whther the fuss about these chips in the analog section is really warranted, but they sure do kick ass for a linestage that wont fatigue your ears after hours of listening, but with all the inner detail you could want..
