Unfortunately, these "cookbook" crossover calculators are only the most basic of starting points when calculating crossover values. Unless there are accurate measurements of the impedance and frequency response of the drivers used, designing a crossover by the cookbook method will almost always yield unsatisfactory results without a lot of tweaking by a well-trained ear. An accurate measurement method of the driver characteristics, and a well-designed computer optimization program, are absolutely essential in achieving an accurate crossover design.
