Thanks for the assistance and advice on this, Al! These cap tweaks are really terrific in my system for RFI control.I now have 3 of these descencing cap into a plug arrays in my rig. One is externally plugged into the unused outlet on my Risch Q&D Iso Tranny for digital, one in my Maher style power strip (where my amps plug in), one in my Tripp Isobar in the same isolated duplex as my coax FM amp. The addition of each one brought an additional subtle improvement in HF detail, most noticably in instruments like cymbals.
By the third one, I felt at first that I may have changed the balance a bit to the bright side, but within an hour that impression subsided when tested with FM and CD on familiar music. Improved sense of space with these, which is no surprise when clarifying HF detail.
Only place I haven't added that .47 X cap to the array is actually inside the Iso Tranny between the secondaries. That would be next.
I realize these effects are cumulative and that they will reach the point of diminishing returns, but is there a point when adding capacitance actually denigrates the sound or the frequency balance????
