Don't post the same question twice. You can delete the other post provided no one answers it first.Yes, there is a difference. Materials and geometry - traditional spike vs a cone with threaded insert, for example - do make a differences in the sound though some are hard to predict. Don't ask which is best - there's a taste element involved and different people like different sounds, plus the speaker/floor combination will have an influence as well. It's a matter of try a few things and see what you like.
If you're happy with the sound you're getting, you can just live with that instead. There are a lot worse things in this hobby than having sound you're happy with.
