Hello all,
I've found that in the output circuit of my tube preamplifier there are n. 2 Auricap 1mF/450V per channel in parallel.
I would like to know why the designer used n.2 caps in parallel rather than just one of 2mF?
Is this just an economic issue? Thus his choice of two less expensive than just one more expensive. Or is it any technical explanation which explains that choice?
Actually, I don't have much treble response so I would like to know if removing one cap(it will be just 1mF rather than the actual 2mF per channel), is a good idea in order to get more highs?
I would like to try Dynamicap in place of the Auricap, but as I wrote, I would like to know if it is better buy 2 caps of 1mF per channel or buy just one of 2mF/425V.
Thank you in advance for your kind answer.
Best regards,
Alex
