Audio Control Richter Scale3 and PSE StudioIV compatability issue???

I am trying to use the RichterScale3 to send a low pass signal to the PSE
When ever I turn on the RichterScale, the PSE's protection is tripped
The RichterScale is not defective as I received a second unit after I first tried the combo
The PSE works just fine as a stand alone
Does anyone have an idea about this issue?
