No danger at all if the charger is properly designed for the type of battery. SLAs will cope very nicely with a plain old trickle charger in this sort of application.One of the wine micro-oxygenation systems which I developed uses an SLA and several clients have had it running for up to a year with the charger in line, no reported problems so far.
