Simple test...

Select some recordings with lots of clean acoustic bass and good dynamics. At least some should have good natural sound-stage (Mapleshade recordings would be ideal).

Listen analytically to selections of these with your Equi=Tech in place, then remove it and listen again. Even with poor acoustic memory and the time required to power down and restart, it should be clear whether the sound-stage gets better or worse, and whether you feel more or less like you are in the performance space.

I have no experience with the device, so I don't know what you will find. The balanced power may be helping your equipment, or the extra metal and increased number of connections may do more harm. You won't know unless you listen.

If the device does not overheat or make a buzzing noise, then you are not overloading the transformer in it. However, this in itself does not guarantee it is helping your audio/video system.
