The Auricap being designed will be far better than any surface mount part. We really don't need GHz freq type parts here just to a few 10's of MHz will do fine. Quality of the caps dielectric and structural integrity are much more important for good sound. This cap has the full audio signal and a lot of switching AC across it, a tough job for any cap. ESL with this new part will be low as or lower than the part being currently used. ESR will be considerably lower due to construction details. This should be a very nice sonic improvement and won’t break the bank either. Complete specs on the new cap will be provided when available.
