science is discovering that many substances behave differently when used in ultra small particle form... you cannot extend the performance parameters of a material into the macro realm automatically. Gold tends to form microsphere shapes that well may complement the silver particles... and very surprisingly to me, cables made from relatively poor conductors, the Van den Hul carbon fiber interconnects for example, much more resistive than gold, have exceptionally fine low level performance, better than ANY metal wire that I've heard, although they suffer from dynamic limitation. The platinum metals are lousy conductors that can make excellent sounding coating layers (if you like a detailed sound).
