A lighter CD player with a smooth bottom might tend to slide across ceramic feet as well. If this would be a problem with Iso-Cups, hard elastomer balls are recommended. Components will not slide across the elastomer, which delivers superior vibration absorption and, with Iso-Cup Juniors, is ideal for smaller CD players. To liven up a sluggish system, however, ebony balls might be just the ticket. A lighter component's tendency to slide, if pushed, can be overcome by placing a very thin film of Permatex RTV Blue Silicone Gasket Maker (available at auto parts stores) on the chassis bottom where it contacts the footers.
