Please stop a minute and examine what you are doing, have done, and plan to do.....I sold high end audio for 5 years and have special training setting up home theater systems.
First, proper speaker set up is paramount to good sound in any room. You cannot place speakers where they are convenient, or stick them against a wall. No amount of sound treatments can repair the damage done from improper speaker positioning.
Second, French Doors only need to be covered during video. So just make something to slip on. I prefer 1/4 inch high density fiberboard. You can cover this with some nice fabric (cheap) and afix it with velcro or pins.
Third, anyone telling you they can improve your sound by treatments is really misleading you. They cannot. No one can.
I have a speaker placement protocol I was trained with that works every time. Send me your email address and I will forward it to you. If you are unwilling to move your speakers to maximize your sound then don't email me for instructions. It is a waste of your time, my time, and all the money you have spent and are planning to spend.

By the way, my trainer sets up all the Stereophile rooms when his products are being evaluated because even the reviewers do not know how to do an optimum 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 set up. This is not rocket science, however you have to couple the speaker to the room accoustics and simultaneously couple each speaker to the others. When all the speakers are properly energizing the air in the space, then and only then will you hear the sound that they are capable of rendering.
Cheers.
