you want to keep speaker vibration from getting back to the eletronics and source gear. But you want the speakers mounted solid as a base for the drivers. The best answer I got from a friend who is superb in system and room setup is to solid mount the speakers but to isolate(soft mount) the rest of your system. Try sand boxes and/or small bicycle tubes for an inexpensive way.
