I thought about it but...I believe the reason why shielded speaker cables are not a popular design is the same reason why many folks don't care for shielded power cords for use with amplifiers (source components way OK). The shield effects the amplifier's openness and dynamics, IMHO. For speaker cable use, I have chosen Nordost CinemaFlex 14/4 wired star-quad for noise rejection and have found it to have a very low noise floor (it's affordable, too). I intend to post a review of it in CA after a long burn-in. The star-quad geometry (also implemented for some power cord designs) is a good way to reject noise without resorting to the use of a shield.
