Lynn, imo ProGold continues to be a good product at a very modest cost. It is not as good as some of the newer contact enhancers that have come onto the market, but it does generally offer an improved electrical contact that makes a positive audible improvement. Where folks have had difficulties is in using too much of it on their contacts. If only takes a thin wiping from a cloth on which the ProGold has been applied. As you point out, cleaning contacts periodically provides great improvement all by itself, and 92-97% isopropyl alcohol works great for that.
