I bought myself a Toshiba 3950, and want to do the Swenson mods to it. I need to measure the input impedance of the line in stage so I can correctly size the caps for the project.I was thinking of using a series resistor and an ac millivoltmeter, in conjunction with a signal generator. Generate 1KHz, feed it into the resistor. Measure the voltage across the resistor, then compute the current through the resistor. Next, measure the voltage across the line-in port. We have the current from the previous step, so we should be able to compute the impedance.
Is this the way to do it, or am I totally out to lunch? Thanks,
