I am a MC fan, though I have recently given up on TT's. I understand that the Stanton 881 Mk II S cartridge is one of the best MM carts around. I would not even think of using it till I had the TT set up properly though, and it aligned properly as well. The TT ought to be leveled using a level on the plynth/base. Then you need to attach the cartridge to the arm, get to zero, that is have the arm parallel to the table, then adjust the weight, the gage, if any, on the arm is the last resort for this as they are notoriously inaccurate. If you lack any other scale, use it. Again, antiskating adjustments are ballpark at best using the arm. Than you want something like a Dennison Soundtracer to align the cartridge. That will at least get you into the ballpark. I am sure there are better instructions if you Google it. The Stanton may not be the best, but if others think it is well shielded, it is the one I would go with in a MM cart.
