Hemholtz vs bass traps

68.60.233.193

I'm back to looking at the HT room for improvement. I'm useing the Dayton Titanic 12 in a corner and as usual bass at the edge of the room is louder than at the center. I don't know if there is any typical hump that needs corrected. The room is in the basement with concrete floor\2X4 walls and Armstrong ceiling 12.6 by 18 by 7 foot.

I can put hemholtz resonators behind three walls and in three corners behind the wall. If I found a proper frequency to tune them would they be as effective as traps? Is there a rule of thunb for box size?

Also I have a couch in the middle of the room that has plenty of internal space to load up with ridged fiberglass. Would this be worth while or a waste? At least the damping would be close to the floor and 6-8" thick for 2' by 6'.
