Hello,Parts ConneXion modified my Denon 2900, and I have been nothing but thrilled with the results. I also purchased the optional clock ($480). Regarding Redbook performance, I compared the modified Denon to a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista DAC with Musical Fidelity A3.2 CD player (transport only). The Tri-Vista was warmer, but with a wider soundstage and more "air" between instruments and voices. The Denon was superior in low frequency extension and impact. In terms of overall detail, they are both excellent. It's hugely subjective, though.
