If the driver basket is made from a cast material I wouldnt do it.If it is just like a flat stamped metal material then yes. Instead of blue tack use like a sorbethane sheet with self adhesive. Cut to shape, heat with a hair dryer then apply. Wont be going anywhere and will dampen the basket.
