as I've done with everything I've constructed to be part of my system. As long as you seal and sand the wood ahead of time, spray paint will go on very evenly and will give you a glossy finish if you like. The only downside is you need to move the box to a place where you can spray (if you even have such a spot), and the paint takes several days to fully dry and be ready for use.-Pete
