I agree with Jim. I think the 12ATs would have been better for what you desire. The 6922 is, IMHO, a step in the opposite direction for your sonic goals.
As far as caps go, I think Jim may also have a point here. AuriCaps will not give you a "snappier" presentation, maybe more resolution?If the Mallory's are not an option, I would have to go back to my original mention of the SoniCap. If you choose the Sonic, make sure it is the original series and not the Gen 2. If either of these caps don't cut it for you, I don't know what else will. Playing around with further caps will not yield any better results. It just may be the neature of the beast.
