Being a â€œmemberâ€ of the Chicago Horn Club as well as the Chicago Audio Society, I think this will be a meeting of great interest to the Horn/Tube/DIY crowd, give it a try!:

will be having a meeting on Sunday, December 12th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the:
Arlington Heights Historical Society
Arlington Room (enter rear door off brick walkway on the east [right] side of the building)

Free parking in the commuter lot located across the street, south of the building
TOPIC: Rick Berta, one of our members, will be demonstrating his own speaker design. The speakers are 97db efficient and use a Lambda 15" bass driver with an ESS Heil Air Motion transducer in a series crossover in a sand-fillable cylindrical enclosure. Rick will also be bringing a pair of custom balanced 300B amps using a differential circuit. Also, an Exemplar Audio Reference preamp and an Exemplar Audio modified Denon 3910 multi-format player will be on hand.
This will be a great opportunity to hear an interesting high-efficiency speaker design with SET and custom tube electronics. Hope to see you there! In the Holiday spirit, we will also have extra refreshments on hand, and encourage all to bring any new music you have discovered.
A $5.00 admission fee is charged to non-members (to cover room and other costs) which includes refreshments.
