It sounds to me like you want your system to be colored and have the type of distortion that makes your preferred music sound better to you. I say this because if you were (or are, as you may be) aiming to minimize distortion and reproduce recordings as failthfully as possible, it would not matter what type of music you listen to.If you are aiming to minimize distortion and make your system as transparent as possible, worry not about the source material. Transparent does the same thing to jazz as it does to classical, as it does to rock. Actually, I find it very useful to listen to a wide vareity of recordings when evaluating a tweak - I believe one of the best indicators of tranparency is how different each recording sounds from one another.
Given this, I'd search the Tweakers' archives again, as it contains tons of great info on virtually all known tweaks. I'd ignore the type of music each inmate prefers, and instead pay more attention to the inmates' goals and tweak results. The types of tweaks I'd look into most if I were you are vibration management, power supply/AC tweaks, and room treatments. All three categories have many low-cost options and all three can have very dramatic effects on your overall sound. In fact, I'd tackle room treatment first, since you need a decent sounding room before you can properly evaluate anything.
