Hi there Ally Cat,You been to that TNT website?(Put a tiger in your amp).I uprated Bias current, went from manufactured spec,<100mA,to 160mA.I've changed pots, replaced emitter resistors for audio grade, then because of heat rise,I added extra heatsinks to the heatsink to dissipate heat more safely. Then got advised to lower Bias as much as poss, because what you get with more current is Distortion Harmonics which leave you to believe it sounds better.I lowered it down to 70mA.Actualy sounds better!!!! ?
Want to put a tiger in there, give it a Transformer with more Amps coming out.I've gone from 1.6A to 5 Amps.Today I've seperated the supply rails to the Power Transistors and will be installing a second supply using the old Transformer to power the rest of the circuit.A nightmare, but I hope that adding a Zener stablizer to the power transistors and a Regulator I.C. to the rest of the circuits(the driver stages)should give could results. Will post findings.Happy Listening.Mikee55
