So I am groovin' on these speaker cables. Here is my system: bottlehead paramour amps with tj meshplate 2a3's and telefunken ecc801s input tubes. 12sn7 based preamp (srpp circuit). digital source is a tjoeb 4000 (with nos amperex bugle boys), analog is an mmf-5 with denon dl103 cart and lehman black cube phono stage. speaks are diy: cletron 12" fr drivers with whizzers and big alnico magnets in transmission line / horn cabs. Since installing the hd-14, I have been listening to pinback, iron and wine, nick drake, the books, american analog set, the shins, blonde redhead and snow patrol.
here is what I hear relative to the kimber 4tc I replaced. First, a higher, wider and deeper soundstage. second, more low end and low end detail. third, better tonal balance and musicality.
