I've found that the Redbook CD, the SACD and the DVD-A areas all require separate burn-in time. Different chips exercized for each. The coupling caps and power supply are shared, however, so just swap between formats every 8 hours and in 4 days you should have everything cooked sufficiently to make a reasonable judgement. Others may argue you need 100 hours for each - maybe, but you'll get most of the way there after 40 for each format.Definitely let the player cool off for an hour or so in between. That little transformer does get hot. I have noticed that the player needs about an hour of warm up time before it opens up - in any format. That means an hour on CD's will make CD's sound better, but you will need another 20 minutes or so with a SACD or DVD-A playing to heat up those circuits and make them sound best.
Damn nuisance, but it is audible in the spacial and imaging characteristics.
Enjoy,
Bob
