Re: reduce speaker cabinet coloration, increase tonal accuravy, naturalness (long)

I'm relatively new to this, and I can't afford to join the 'component of the month club', so I'm not intimately familiar with many components except for the ones I own and, except for in-store auditions, I don't really have any opportunities to change this.

From the research and trial-and-error that I've done, I'm somewhat confidant that cabinet resonance is the source of this coloration because 'soft' speaker feet (Vibrapods, etc...) went a long way towards eliminating the problem. However, the vibrapods caused worse problems (muddiness, loss of detail, see previous post). I'm hoping for suggestions on how to tweak my speakers more effectively in this respect. Failing that, I'm considering changing my speakers to something more well known for midrange accuracy (Spendor).
