PS Audio seems to use similar (same!?) core, so I think it will do if I use only 10 or 15 laps (term ?). On the other hand I would like to use a non toroidal core but I believe that using this particular core and common mode winding I will get better results. I might be wrong but I'm willing to take the risk :-)

About the X type capacitors. RS internet catalogue has a warning in every mains suppression cap product page:
WARNING: X capacitors are designed for connecting directly accross a mains supply but should NOT be used in positions where failure of a capacitor would expose anybody to electric shock

I heard that Y2 caps are not the best choise in audio use since they leak. Y1 caps are better but they come in small values only.
