Thank you Jon for reply.PS Audio seems to use similar (same!?) core, so I think it will do if I use only 10 or 15 laps (term ?). On the other hand I would like to use a non toroidal core but I believe that using this particular core and common mode winding I will get better results. I might be wrong but I'm willing to take the risk :-)
About the X type capacitors. RS internet catalogue has a warning in every mains suppression cap product page:
WARNING: X capacitors are designed for connecting directly accross a mains supply but should NOT be used in positions where failure of a capacitor would expose anybody to electric shockI heard that Y2 caps are not the best choise in audio use since they leak. Y1 caps are better but they come in small values only.
