Of interest is my old trusty Crown PL-3 power amp. The manual makes a point of stating the input driver is a NE-5532 IC! I subbed that out with a newer Burr Brown OPA 2604, and the Heavens opened up (but God wouldn't appear- she said something about Triodes and 2A3s...). I'm still planning an electrolytic cap replacement marathon in the near future (after all, the amp has just turned 20 years old).Oh well. It still sounds great. I'm sure there is better out there, but my ears are still hooked on this amp.
Cheers,
Dman
