Re: Alternative to thick rug for floor!?!?

Hi There,

Unforunately all natural materials are very expensive here. A similar rug to yours made of wool would cost the equivalent of around 900-1000 euro. The only thing I can afford is something made of synthetic material which will not work well, and those sell for around 200-300 euro. I spoke to the manufacturers of that SONIC LINER I put a link to in my first post. Apparently that black woven material is made especially made to be acoustically transparent AND to keep all the fibers of fiberglass in. I contacted them and they said they could easily make a rug-like carpet whereby they take that sonic liner and cover the other side and the sides with that black material so that it is completely enclosed. I think I may at least try that for now whilst saving for a much nicer rug. I will lend some ideas from the absorption panel designs on the boards which cover fiberglass panels with polyester batting and burlap to keep the fiberglass in. I will thus have the fiberglass blanket enclosed in the black material, enclosed in a thing layer of batting and finally a nice color burlap.

I will still keep my eyes open for a rug like yours rather than those persian/afghan rugs since I too much prefer them. The partial diffusion is also a great plus.

Thanks again for your help,
X
