1) Mapleshade and some other companies make better power cords with no IEC on the end, just bare wires. You cut off your existing cord a few inches outside the box and wire the added upmarket cord to the stub. This is minor surgery.
2) Buy some Highwire Power Wraps and place them properly on your captive cords (they wrap around them like a spring). Let that burn in a day. You'll be surprised at how well they can work. Cost is $25/apiece - one for each cord.
3) Get better outlets and power strips and plug your captive cord into those. Some improvement will occur. No surgery. I DIYed my own and it sounds great for under $20 and I'm no electrician.
