Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm assuming those who lurk here are knowledgeable in these matters, so I'm hoping you can help me. I'd like to add a regular light switch, the standard wall mounting flip kind, to an extension cord... Is this safe, and I'm assuming I'd cut either wire and have it interrupted by the switch, leaving the other as well as the ground (if the cord has one) uninterrupted? I'd of course make some kind of small housing to be sure the exposed contacts were covered........... It wouldn't be powering high fidelity audio equipment, just a network of chili pepper Christmas lights. :)Is it safe?
