over the past few days i've been through the ringer trying to clean a POS fisher 500c.for reference, i will only be using mr. metal (available at HEB and other grocery stores) from here on out. its extremely good, useful for all metals (though i wouldn't use it for ICs / cables as it doubtless leaves a film after application).
denatured alcohol didn't cut the mustard.
