Electrolytics and Tantulum offer large capacitance for volume. but become higher in series resistance as frequency increases. they become ineffective for filtering out noise above (electrolytics 30KHZ) and (Tantulum 100Khz).Ceramic caps have much lower series resistance and can
filter frequency above 500Khz. But they offer limmited capacitance per volume. So the combination is used to achieve a wider range of frequency
filtering.
