Kilo,Ditto Trevor's and Jon's suggestions. Further, carefully inspect the disc drive transport frame. If it's like mine (marantz CD67 SE) a Phillips CDM-12 based frame, the whole drive frame is plastic and vibrates when playing a disc. judicious application of damping pad to the frame structure produces an immediate improvement in overall sound quality ( staging, timing, harmonics, bass, etc) Any CDP can benefit from damping the drive frame. Good luck and good listening.
